Be Yourself

As we get closer to the holiday season, I thought I would have this blog focus less on training and pushing your limits and more on enjoying your time off. I could spend hours typing about the importance of relaxation and balance, but I've already done that (and you can read some of my other blogs if that's what you're looking for). I would rather spend this time talking about you, because what's the point of me getting you to read this if you get nothing out of it?
In today's society, it can get real easy to get away from what you really want and what you really believe in because a sacrifice was made here and a compromise was made there, and next thing you know ten years have past and you're MISERABLE at a job you didn't think you'd have, or a relationship you're not sure you want to be in, or whatever situation you didn't want to begin with. It's really important, and HEALTHY, to be true to yourself and your convictions, and stand up for those that are important to you. I spoke with a friend of mine who always wanted to be a trainer, and make a compromise, and another compromise, and ended up as an accountant (or something like that). Now it's been ten years and she's finally starting to pursue her true dream of being a trainer. So why wait til it's too late to be yourself and get where you truly want to go? I was once down a similar path, and was lucky to meet someone who steered me in the right direction (and is now one of my closest friends) and am living the dream I first had when I started figuring out who I was, and where I wanted my life to take me.
So with this new year approaching, now is the time to starting thinking about where your life is, where you want it to be, and how close or far apart the two actually are from one another. Every journey has a destination... is yours en route to the destination you set out to begin with?

Happy Holidays people, as this is probably my last blog of the year!
(Get ready for a bigger and badder 2010!)
