Hey Guys!
It's been a busy few months since I've come home from Vegas, and WAY TOO LONG since I've thrown out a blog, so here we go....
Lately, as the people around me have noticed, I've been wearing myself out too thin and biting off more than I can chew. So I started thinking about the times in my life when I was the happiest, the most energetic, the most...well, myself. That's when I realized (and I had a few friends help me out on this one) it was whenever I had a chance to sit down and reflect on whatever was going on in my life. In other words, when I slowed things down. I'd spend more time in the gym, play sports, go out and actually live. So what I'm trying to say here is, even though we, as trainers, are always saying, "Be active", "Go to the gym", " Get off your ass and do something", we still have to remember: everything in moderation. You need time (especially in the busy world we live in these days) to "stop and smell the roses", as my friend Adriana put it.
So with the good weather coming, maybe it's time to take it easy a little. I'm definitely not saying to stop working hard, I'm just saying maybe add in those "rest breaks", so when it's time to go hard, you can cross the line and embrace that oh so sweet pain once again!
Just a thought...
Talk to ya,
Nb
