just go for it...
Story-time...yet again:
I'm on facebook right now studying with a friend for a physiology exam, and we got on a tangent (which I tend to do) and started talking about music, and the studio I am currently in the process of designing, when I decided to get on here and go on another of my many tangents. As you may or may not know, I've recently decided to return to school (for my fourth undergraduate program in 8 years), but for the most part, I haven't really talked about why.
I woke up one morning sometime last summer, and looked at everything I had done in my life up to that point, and looked at everything I wanted to get done, and literally said,"Ok, let's do it all!". I had realized there were MANY goals I had not yet achieved, and said I better do it now while I still can (this is where the title of this blog comes into play). I've always wanted to be able to play the guitar and grow my hair long and be a front-man for a band. I've wanted to own a facility to train in ( I don't wanna call it a gym, because that would be classifying it, and I want this facility to be in a league of its own...details to come in a few years by the way). I've always wanted to own my own property, drive a motorcycle, and travel to various locations, and I've devoted the next two years into establishing and executing all these goals.
That's my story for the next 2 years, and by writing it on here I am now accountable to you guys to succeed with this new game plan. If you have a dream or goal you want to go for, feel free to comment on it here, or on the Threeestyle Fitness facebook page. (click here).
... just go for it, and you'll know if it was worth it or not!
Talk to ya,

Las Vegas Blog... short and sweet
I'm currently watching UFC 114 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the urge to document my thoughts came up suddenly. I wanna talk about potential. Potential being the promise or hope of fulfilling a dream or reaching a desired goal. Potential to strive above everything and be the best you could be, or better. Potential to get everything you've ever wanted, and maybe something you didn't know you wanted. With Potential, the possibilities are endless.
I think what spurred this one on was watching these fighters this weekend at the UFC expo Friday, and now the fights tonight. They all had potential, and made sure they did what it took to reach it. I look at my life on this day and realize the potential that is around me, and it's time for me to reach it. Sometimes you don't realize the potential you have until an experience comes forth and shows it to you. So I guess the moral of the story is simply find your potential... wherever it may be!

Be Yourself
In today's society, it can get real easy to get away from what you really want and what you really believe in because a sacrifice was made here and a compromise was made there, and next thing you know ten years have past and you're MISERABLE at a job you didn't think you'd have, or a relationship you're not sure you want to be in, or whatever situation you didn't want to begin with. It's really important, and HEALTHY, to be true to yourself and your convictions, and stand up for those that are important to you. I spoke with a friend of mine who always wanted to be a trainer, and make a compromise, and another compromise, and ended up as an accountant (or something like that). Now it's been ten years and she's finally starting to pursue her true dream of being a trainer. So why wait til it's too late to be yourself and get where you truly want to go? I was once down a similar path, and was lucky to meet someone who steered me in the right direction (and is now one of my closest friends) and am living the dream I first had when I started figuring out who I was, and where I wanted my life to take me.
So with this new year approaching, now is the time to starting thinking about where your life is, where you want it to be, and how close or far apart the two actually are from one another. Every journey has a destination... is yours en route to the destination you set out to begin with?
Happy Holidays people, as this is probably my last blog of the year!
(Get ready for a bigger and badder 2010!)

It's because of you that we have what we have today... embrace the spirit, and don't forget it!
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

Accountability
Consistency: making it a lifestyle choice rather than a routine will get you going closer to your goals because you're not making it a chore.
Intensity: The harder you work, the more calories you burn, the more weight you lose. The harder you lift, the more you can lift, the stronger you get. It's that simple.
and Lastly, ACCOUNTABILITY. You have to be accountable to yourself to get where you want to go. No one cares if you reach your goals or not. The only person it matters to the most is you. It's your workout,so put into it what you want to get out of it. Ask yourself how important it is to you, and what sacrifices are you willing to make to get there. No matter what your goal is you won't achieve it overnight, but if you are accountable for your actions and decisions and don't stray too far from your goal, how can you not reach it?
I've gotten as far as I am today by being accountable for my actions and not making excuses. When I want something, I push as hard as I can and become relentless until that goal is achieved. You have to want it, and you have to be accountable to get it, because no ones gonna get it for you.
It's that simple...earn it!

...’cuz Sometimes, It’s Not Just About ME!
So I threw a few thoughts together so everyone knows where I am coming from as far as the next few big moves in my life taking place are concerned:
“It’s time to put a few things into perspective. As much as I love the drawings, the workouts and the phrase ‘CROSS THAT LINE’, in the long run, it’s somewhat irrelevant. I’m not speaking on behalf of Threeestyle Fitness or Chuck Diez or any other affiliate I’m involved with. This is Nelson; 5’3, buck fifty pounder dude that shaves only when his face gets itchy or is sick of putting gel in his hair. It’s so easy in life to get caught up in the politics, the dramas, the catch phrases and flashy ads in life, but at the end of the day it’s just you. Living. Breathing. Eating. Sleeping. The important thing though is that you APPRECIATE the fact that you can do all those things, and you can do them comfortably, because there’s a lot of people who can’t.
So as you read this note, or as you ignore it and hope on the couch and turn on the tube, or as you take the plastic in your wall it and swipe it somewhere, remember there are people out there who don’t have those luxuries and you CAN DO SOMETHING TO HELP THEM!
We live in a society that is very fast-paced, very go go go. So fast that we don’t give ourselves time to slow it down and enjoy and appreciate what we DO have. We are so caught up in making money and getting ahead in our own lives that we sometimes forget about the people who don’t have those same opportunities. Please notice how I keep saying we, because I’m totally guilty of this.
I’ve spent the last, let’s say, four years of my life (though it’s probably been longer)OBSESSED with 1. Having a career, 2. Getting ahead in my career, and 3. Excelling in the field(s) I’m in that I forget that I’ve done more in the last two years that a lot of people have done in the last 5-10 years in their respective industries of choice. I’m just upset it’s taken this long for me to realize it. So now it’s time to give back...
...I hope if you are reading this you agree with me and want to help make a change in someone else’s life. I know there are people who will be reading this that are already doing so, and I thank you. All I hope to do is spark a change for the better. It’s why I do what I do, the rest is a bonus! I try not to watch the news, because it’s never anything good, and from the looks of things it’s only going to get worse because we’re too comfortable to change it. So as I tell my clients, my groups and anyone else who asks, get out of your comfort zone and please make a difference. I’m not gonna tell you who, where or how to do it, I’ll let you figure that one out yourselves. I’m just saying if we all give it a shot, then we have a fighting chance at making the world better.”
I needed to get that out. If you want to help and you’re not too sure how, then feel free to email me at my personal email address (and I NEVER give this one out): nelson.bolarinho@gmail.com. I will be participating with some of my affiliates in the near future in raising money for certain causes, but I wish not to use this as a forum to advertise any of them as that is not the intent of this note, so I won’t be mentioning any names. If you email me, I will advertise for them. In the end, it’s not about me, it’s about US!
Thanks for reading this one guys, now back to the grind.
